Complete Building Services (CBS) provides operational support to more than 100 commercial properties throughout the Washington, DC metro area. We are currently seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee a portfolio of three buildings—two smaller properties in Bethesda and one in Rockville. In this role, the Chief Engineer will collaborate closely with our client and maintenance team to ensure optimal building performance and efficiency. 

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with occasional after-hours support for projects as needed.
Compensation: $40–$45 per hour, based on experience.

Your day to day will vary and your duties could include:

• Providing Quality Control services for the work of subordinates and subcontractors to ensure maximum efficiency, economy, and quality of work performed
• Assist with competitive process, develop statement of work construction documents, obtain bids/proposals/cost estimates for TWO's (Tenant Work Order's) and construction projects
• Oversight of diagnostic and repairs on building systems
• Oversight of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety system repairs
• Preparing work schedules
• Maintaining records and prepare required reports
• Coordinating and schedule maintenance and repair work on a daily basis
• Manage some on-site subcontractors supporting the projects  
• Preparing and issuing solicitations for the subcontractors as necessary for the acquisition of goods and services in support of the contract requirements

The Chief Engineer shall possess the following minimum qualifications

• 5+ years of building engineering experience
• Demonstrate expert working knowledge of engineering and building systems—AHU's, Chillers, Boilers, RTU's, VAV, etc.
• Quality Control/Inspect completed work
• Ability to plan, organize and meet deadlines
• Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and prioritize work, as required
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and project tracking software
• Ability to read, review and understand blueprints
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage subordinates and multiple projects in a fast pace environment
