Responsibilities

Complete Building Services is hiring a Building Engineer to join our Operations and Maintenance division. The Building Engineer will perform preventive and general maintenance and troubleshooting at an INOVA facility in Ashburn, VA. Hours for this position are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday. This is a 24x7 facility, must be flexible with hours. Must be able to return to the building for emergencies. Oversees landscapers, snow removal by landscapers.

 

Major Duties:

  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly inspections of systems and associated equipment
  • Perform preventative and general maintenance on a scheduled basis
  • Maintain equipment to industry standards
  • Interface with building manager and other customer representatives in order to ensure client satisfaction
  • Complete daily, weekly and/or monthly reports of system status as directed by supervisor
  • Purchase materials and supplies, and maintain inventory as required for timely work completion
  • Prepare and distribute daily, weekly and monthly reports of system status and work completed
  • Operate and maintain HVAC, electrical and security systems and associated hardware and equipment as directed
  • Prepare predictive maintenance on assigned equipment in order to prevent breakdowns and/or outages
  • Accurately document work performed on tickets and/or work orders

Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of 5+ years of experience operating, and maintaining commercial buildings in the last 5 years
  • Experienced in building operations, troubleshooting is essential
  • Equipment - hot water boilers for heating, VAV boxes, 2 large RTU units, split systems.
  • Must have strong computer skills
  • Able to perform PM maintenance on all mechanical equipment
  • Requires reliable transportation
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Hands on equipment experience including, but not limited to: changing filters, grease bearings, repairing flush valves, stop valves, change ballast/light bulbs
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • NAPE classes or equivalent
