Donohoe Construction Company is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our fast-paced general contracting team in the DMV area! Responsibilities

  • Processing accounts payable & subcontractor payments
  • Processing accounts receivable/cash receipts
  • Handling and updating subcontractor required documents
    • Examples include lien waivers & contracts
  • Sales & Use tax filings (DC, MD & VA)
  • Monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations
  • Subcontractor communications (when necessary)
  • Invoice workflow oversight
    • Ensure proper routing of invoices for approvals with project management.
  •  Ensure efficiency and accuracy across all accounting functions & ensure adherence to internal controls
  • Year-end audit assistance with outside accounting firm
  • Conduct/review weekly check runs to pay miscellaneous payables

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in accounting or related field
  • 7+ years of experience as an accountant, project accountant, or similar
  • General contractor accounting experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, primarily Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to interact well with colleagues and external contacts
  • Ability to work well under deadlines and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Public accounting experience preferred, not required
  • Knowledge of internal controls

  • Oracle J.D. Edwards AS400 World
  • Tungsten Workflow
  • Oracle Textura Payment Management
  • Autodesk Project Management Software
  • Outlook

Physical demands: 

The work is mostly sedentary with periods of light physical activity. Employee to walk or stand for short or mid periods; lift and carry up to 20 pounds; climb stairs, bend, reach, hold, grasp, and turn objects; and operate standard office equipment (computer, keyboard, phone and printer). The work requires the ability to speak clearly and to see and hear clearly with or without correction. 

 

Work environment:

Primary work is performed indoors in a standard office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is subject to inflexible deadlines. Employee may be subject to work beyond the normal scheduled work hours.

 

Telework:

As a full-time corporate-office based job, this position is eligible for teleworking in accordance with the Company’s Telework Policy. Approval by the position’s supervisor and Division President is required.

 

Pay Range:

The expected base pay range for this position is $100,000 - $110,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors such as qualifications and experience.
