  • Overview

    The Controller is responsible for championing and implementing property-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the hotel brand's owners, customers and employees.  Partnering with the Divisional Controller, this position will provide the financial expertise to enable the successful implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives while maximizing the return on investment and focusing on the execution of daily financial activities.    


    Essential functions include:

    • Developing strategies to improve profit, including estimating cost and beneft and exploring new business opportunties.
    • Analyzing budget planning, wage forecasting, financial data and market trends. Ensure strong accounting and operational controls and safeguards are current.
    • Providing analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost-saving and productivity opportunities for hotel managers.
    • Generating accurate and timely reports.
    • Assisting in providing accounting guidance to General Managers and Executive Committee leaders.
    • Identifying, researching and resolving problems.
    • Day-to-Day management of Accounting Managers and Staff may be required.


    Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related major, and at least five years experience working in the hospitality, finance and/or accounting profession is required.  Master's Degree or CPA in Finance and Accounting is desirable.   The ideal candidate will have meticulous attention to detail, an intermediate-to-advanced expertise with Excel and Accounting Software, high business acumen to drive results and expert forecasting and budgeting abilities.  In addition to the technical requirements, the Divisional Controller must be able to develop and sustain relationships and actively participate in and support team initiatives.
