Complete Building Services, a building operations/facilities maintenance company, is currently seeking a Lead Building Engineer/Mechanical/HVAC in Washington DC. CBS is a division of The Donohoe Companies, Inc. - Washington's oldest real estate company.


The Lead Building Engineer shall be flexible to support all shifts including 3rd shift tour hours that include 9pm-6am and possible weekends. Advance notice will be provided prior to requesting services that will alter the typical day shift hours of 6:00am - 2:30pm




  • The HVAC mechanic shall have the ability to install, assemble, trouble shoot, modify, repair, and maintain air conditioning equipment throughout offices, facilities, sensitive areas, and data centers requiring critical control of temperatures.
  • The HVAC mechanic shall have the ability to install, assemble, trouble shoot, modify, repair and maintain chilled water or refrigerant lines to condensers, evaporators, compressors, and controls; evacuating, dehydrating and charging system with appropriate refrigerants; checking for refrigerant leakages; resetting controls essential to maintain desired pressures, humidity, and temperatures.





  • Must possess current CFC Universal Certification
  • Must possess current and valid Operating Engineers License, or Journeyman - Level HVAC Mechanic license
  • Must have Data Center experience (CRAC) Units
  • Must have not less than three (3) years of experience obtained within the past five (5) years as a licensed journeyman level HVAC Mechanic in a building of comparable size (1,000,000 sq. ft.) and complexity
  • Shall have completed vocational and technical training in HVAC Mechanic maintenance and service work
  • Must possess ability to identify common causes of HVAC Mechanical system failures
  • Must possess ability to coordinate PM scheduling
  • Must possess ability to establish routine testing procedures
  • Must possess ability to apply PM strategies and techniques such as RCM, RMP, and Root cause failure analysis
  • Must possess ability to meet project deadlines on time
  • Must possess ability to work on several projects simultaneously and prioritize work as required
  • Must possess working knowledge of HVAC Mechanical system systems and an ability to understand and utilize HVAC Mechanical system drawings
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
