Overview

Donohoe Construction Company, one of the most prominent General Contractors in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area is actively seeking a highly motivated Quality Control (QC) Specialist with a focus on Commercial Base Building Construction to join our team. This position provides general oversight and management of the Donohoe Quality Control Program, as well as support to each project’s Field Team. 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides general oversight and leadership of Donohoe’s QC Program and team
  • Comprehend and interpret construction documents (A, S, MEP, and FP) to perform a constructability analysis of plans and specifications as it relates to the building envelope and issue RFIs to the Field Team
  • Review all building envelope submittals, as they relate to compatibility with related and adjacent materials (air barriers, WRB’s, and WP applications)
  • Participation in all preconstruction conferences related to the building envelope
  • Participation in the review of all mock-ups
  • Periodic visiting of project sites to conduct walk-throughs and inspections
  • Executes the resolution of field issues in relation to the development of remedial design sketches

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar role
  • Experience in multi-family, high-rise residential, and hospitality construction is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Latista software
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze blue prints; high attention to detail
  • High sense of urgency to work independently and meet critical deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills – written, presentation, and interpersonal
  • Possess a high degree of integrity and dedication to superior customer service
